KCB Rwanda tips students on women empowerment

Female students in the country have been urged to have big dreams to reach their full potential. KCB Rwanda staff made the call while addressing students at Fawe Girls School on women empowerment, career guidance, and equal opportunities, during the Women’s Day celebrations at the school on Tuesday. “You have to dream big. Whatever you do you need to first define your dream, define what you want to be in life and then you commit yourself to that target,” Molly Rwigamba, a member of KCB board and legal expert, told the students. KCB employees gathered at the school’s main hall and met hundreds of schoolgirls to celebrate the International Women’s Day. The staff shared inspirational and motivational stories with the young girls. “Women have potential, looking at Rwandan women in different leadership positions-we can make it. We also have women who have made it big globally,” said Rwigamba. Eugenie Kayireba, Fawe Girls School headmistress speaks during the International Women Day celebration at the school on Tuesday Most of the employees who took time to address the girls indicated that women and girls make extraordinary contributions every day across all fields of human endeavour, including in business, education, sports, art, science, agriculture, parenting, and governance. They said, without these contributions, economies would collapse, communities would fail, and families would fall apart. KCB served drinks and snacks to students during the International Women Day celebration at the school on Tuesday. Meanwhile, students had time to ask different questions about how they can fully explore their potential as women. Noella Inshuti, a senior one student, said it was a great inspirational talk. “I’m so glad that I was inspired by these people; one big lesson I’ve learnt is to work for my dreams against all odds. (All photos by Faustin Niyigena) Carine Isaro, a senior five student, said it was so amazing spending time with people with different backgrounds and experiences. “We got a chance to share ideas and ask some of the important questions in life.
