Editor, RE: “ICGLR appeals for calm in Burundi” (The New Times, December 17). ICGLR, huh! Isn’t this the same organisation whose executive director is a notorious genocide denier? What jokers! Meantime Burundi has just been elected to the UN Human Rights Council — I kid not. This reminds one that when the former Rwandan government was organising to commit genocide and then committed it, it had a seat at the UN Security Council table from which it could work with its French ally to ensure no action was taken by the Council.History truly seems to repeat itself, both as a tragedy and farce.
