KIGALI - The National Police has revealed that 12 traffic police officials have been charged with corruption.
Speaking to the New Times yesterday, police spokesperson, Eric Kayiranga, said that the Police does not tolerate corruption.
“In an anti-corruption operation that has been going on, the police have reported 12 traffic officials alleged to have been engaged in corruption during their duties on the roads,” Police spokesman said.
However, Kayiranga said that the cases of corruption in the police are reducing, attributing it to sensitization that has been going on in the country.
He added that the force’s administration has plans to improve the welfare of their personnel which is also in line with professionalizing the force.
