Rulindo District employees donate cows to poor residents

RULINDO – Employees of Rulindo district and Rutongo Hospital have donated seven cows to the poor residents of Shyorongi Sector. The cattle worth Rwf1.5million were handed over by the district vice Mayor for Social Affairs, Emiliene Niwemwiza on Tuesday.

RULINDO – Employees of Rulindo district and Rutongo Hospital have donated seven cows to the poor residents of Shyorongi Sector.

The cattle worth Rwf1.5million were handed over by the district vice Mayor for Social Affairs, Emiliene Niwemwiza on Tuesday.

“The employees contributed and bought the cattle for poor peasants, as it is in line with the Rwandan culture for people to assist one another to eradicate poverty in society,” said Niwemwiza.

Niwemwiza disclosed that that the district employees had previously donated three other cows to poor residents of Ntarabana Sector and another three cows to those of Bushoki Sector.   

“The district employees have also opened up UMURENGE SACCO accounts for 60 poor residents of Ntarabana Sector,” she disclosed. 

Rulindo district Public Relations Officer, Charles Nsengiyumva, said the culture of the district staff helping poor residents shall continue in other Sectors.

“It is part of cementing love and solidarity among the Rwandan communities”, said Nsengiyumva.
