RULINDO – Officials of Rulindo district executive and members of the advisory council on Tuesday had a two-day study tour to Nyamagabe district in the Southern Province.
Speaking to The New Times, the Rulindo Mayor, Justus Kangwaje, said the tour was part of efforts to learn from successful projects in other districts, which could be applied in his district.
“The study tour shall enable us share ideas on various development projects with our counterparts in Nyamagabe. It is part of governments’ recommended good practice to steer socio- economic development,” he said.
Kangwaje added that they had studied the land consolidation practices in Uwinkingi Sector, where Nyamagabe residents harvest high yield maize and coffee.
“The delegation also studied public health awareness campaigns…Nyamagabe district has made tremendous strides in constructing public toilets,” added Kangwaje.
The Rulindo District Public Relations officer, Charles Nsengiyumva, said their delegation also visited Murambi Genocide memorial site.
