According to Janvier Ugeziwe, the rugby federation Secretary General, 28 schools are competing this year.
“For starters, we shall have 28 schools because they are the ones with good pitches and good knowledge of the game.”

Some of these schools include Riviera High school, Green Hills, St.Andre, Sunrise, Remera Rukoma, Apred Ndera, Shyongwe, Kizberi, Ruhango High School, Nyanza, ETO Gitarama, Maranatha College, Bethel College, Ruhango and Mukingi among others.
