KCC urges road users to be patient

Due to the current rehabilitation of roads in Kigali City, the Director of Communications, Bruno Rangira, has requested road users to bear with the inconveniences. Moses Kayiranga, a taxi driver plying the Nyamirambo route said that the repairs were not properly planned for, leading to losses for his business.

Due to the current rehabilitation of roads in Kigali City, the Director of Communications, Bruno Rangira, has requested road users to bear with the inconveniences.

Moses Kayiranga, a taxi driver plying the Nyamirambo route said that the repairs were not properly planned for, leading to losses for his business.

“There is a lot of traffic jam, I was making 6 trips a day, now I make 2 because most of the time I am stuck in the jam,” Kayiranga said, “Customers now opt for motorcycles because they are faster.”

Rangira, said that he is aware of the inconveniences the reconstruction of roads is causing and that they are working around the clock to make sure these roads are completed on time.

“By the end of April, the Nyamirambo road will be done. We call upon the public to be a little bit patient, roads will be done in the shortest time possible,” he said.

“The public should understand that it’s in their best interests that the roads are being reconstructed.”
The roads under construction include Nyamirambo, Kanombe and Airport road. 

Rangira also revealed that plans are underway to upgrade feeder roads connecting Kigali suburbs.
