Over 900 Community policing committees complete Ingando

BURERA – The Minister of Internal Security, Sheikh Mussa Fazil Harerimana, has hailed the Community policing committees for the vital role they play in mobilising the residents and bringing about security, peace and order. He was speaking during the closing of a two-week civic training (Ingando),  for over 900 sub committees of the Community policing groups  at the Peace and Leadership Centre in Nkumba, Burera district.

BURERA – The Minister of Internal Security, Sheikh Mussa Fazil Harerimana, has hailed the Community policing committees for the vital role they play in mobilising the residents and bringing about security, peace and order.

He was speaking during the closing of a two-week civic training (Ingando),  for over 900 sub committees of the Community policing groups  at the Peace and Leadership Centre in Nkumba, Burera district.

The Minister challenged the groups to move to settlements (Midugudu) and share the lessons they had acquired to promote security and fight gender based violence.
The group pledged to continue preventing crimes and fighting gender based violence.

“The lessons have impacted on our lives because we learnt how to root out some of the crimes in society, including corruption and injustice,” said Emiliene Ndacyayisenga from Gisagara district. 

Meanwhile, a special civic education program for people with disabilities, including the   deaf, has been initiated at the same venue.
