ETINCELLES crawled back into the title race after yesterday’s precious 1-0 win over Rayon Sport at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu.

The Western Province side, who had only managed five points in their last four league games, returned to winning ways thanks to a sublime strike from Jean de Dieu Harerimana mid way through the second half.

There was little to say about the first half as both side were reluctant to impose themselves on the game.

The win did not only complete a double over the Blues, but also moved Etincelles into second place with 32 points, a point adrift of league leaders APR although the latter have two games in hand.

Else where, Atraco proved that they are over their Orange Confederation Cup exit after thrashing struggling Musanze 3-0 at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium.

Striker Dadi Birori put the taxi men ahead at the half way mark, before goals from the Lomami brothers wrapped up the points for Sam Timbe’s side.

Captain Lomami Andre (senior) scored on the 68th minute before his replacement and young brother Jean Lomami completed the rout with a volley in the last ten minutes.
Although Timbe’s side remained in fourth place, it is now a point adrift of Rayon Sport, two below Etincelles and three off the pace with two games in hand.

AS Kigali also moved out of the relegation zone after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Amagaju.

The Kigali city council side, which has struggled since the departure of head coach Eric Nshimiyimana, is now eighth on the 12-team league table.

Action continues this Saturday when APR entertains AS Kigali and Etincelles take on minnows Amagaju. However, the highlight of the weekend will be a clash between giants Rayon Sport and Atraco.
