MUHANGA - The Minister of Labour and Public Service, Anastase Murekezi, has reiterated his support to the new leadership of Rwanda Institute of Administration and Management (RIAM).
The Minister made the remarks during a welcoming ceremony of the new board of governors and top administration held February 17 at RIAM grounds in Muhanga district.
During the ceremony, former board chairman Emmanuel Muvunyi handed over to new chairperson Stella Ford Mugabo. The ceremony also saw RIAM’s new director, Déogratias Harorimana taking over Marc Kabandana-who is currently facing charges of embezzlement.
The incoming director, Harorimana, stated that his priority will be to streamline the institution’s programmes and services by boosting its capabilities while developing the institute towards self sustainability.
“RIAM has a strong team of leaders which can be utilised to provide better services and generate more income so that tax payer’s money can be used to support other areas,” he said.
The board chairperson, Stella Ford, also revealed that her vision is to have a competent institution focused on providing demand-driven services capable of building and nurturing the kind of professionals needed within the economy.
The new team also promised to revisit the salary structure of the employees, and developing the institution’s facilities to reach suitable standards.
