ETINCELLES squandered a good chance to widen their lead at the top of the league table following yesterday’s goalless draw with SC Kiyovu at Mumena stadium.
The result took the Rubavu-based side atop the charts with 28 points, one more than reigning champions APR, who have a game in hand.
Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s Kiyovu is now in fifth spot with 23 points from13 matches.
In the other day’s game, six-time league champions Rayon Sport failed to break down AS Kigali’s defense at Nyamirambo stadium.
The game also ended in a stalemate which means that the Blues remain in third position with 25 points while AS Kigali is still rooted in the relegation zone with 10 points.
The Kigali city sponsored side is on level points with Marines, Amagaju and cash strapped Mukura.
APR, who have played 12 matches this season are in second place with 27 points. On tuesday, the army side thrashed marines 3-1.
Bokota Labama, Jean Baptista Mugiraneza and Victor Nyirenda scored the goals.
This afternoon, Atraco can close in on APR with victory over Electrogaz.
The two sides face off at Nyamirambo stadium. The taxi-men are currently in fourth place with 24 points while their opponents have amassed 13 points from 12 matches.
