RWAMAGANA – Over 200 people who sat for driving tests in Rwamagana town on Monday, have expressed hope in acquiring driving licenses, saying the police had simplified the examination techniques.

Bernard Karangwa, one of those who successfully passed the test, said that he was overwhelmed by his achievement after several failed trials.

“I had tried a number of times to complete my driving test in vain. My success today is incredible,” he said.

Jean Claude Habimana another person who had gone for the testing said the traffic police made reasonable changes in the exams to suit them.

“In other countries driving tests are not as harsh as we used to have them here in Rwanda. I tried driving exams in Tanzania and passed them easily, while I had failed them here a number of times. We need to give credit to police for being extra vigilant,” he said.

A Police official at the site however, dismissed the claims that the tests which were given were not tough, although he admitted that there were some adjustments.

“While we made minimal changes here and there on the tests its basic attributes have largely remained the same,” a Police officer supervising the tests said.
