Ben Kalkman, the bank’s CEO told Business Times yesterday that they are carrying out a feasibility study with experts from Netherlands’ RABOBANK.  RABOBANK holds 35 percent of equity in BPR while the former cooperative members own 65 percent.

“We are taking a step a time, the work is on course. We will be launching the service very soon,” Kalkman said.

He explained that the bank is running the venture under its direct supervision. It is yet to decide on which operator they will partner.

“If the service is up and running we are targeting all our country wide customers,” he added.
