RAYON Sport Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya is confident the club will not collapse amidst the on-going crisis. The club has been rocked by financial woes that have seen players go two months without pay.
In a telephone interview with Times Sport, Gakwaya revealed that the financial difficulties are beginning to ease. He also confirmed that the players will receive their arrears before the end of the week.
“We met the players yesterday (Monday) and explained to them the cause of the delay. They are also aware that they will get their arrears before the end of this week,” the official said before adding, “The team is also expected to start training today.”
The Blues have a stern test this Sunday when they play Electrogaz. Rayon, whose last league title dates back in 2004, wrapped up their first round league campaign in third place with 21 points. APR and Etincelles finished joint top with 24 points.
