World Relief sensitises teachers on HIV/AIDS

RUSIZI - A group of 40 Primary and Secondary school teachers from Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts have been trained on how to combat HIV/AIDS in the two districts by World Relief Rwanda. “As teachers who are student’s mentors, I call upon you to go back in your respective schools and advise students and the people around to fight against HIV/AIDS to enable them to live longer,” Clemence Nkurikiyinka, the World Relief supervisor said.

She also urged teachers to advise pupils to shun premature sex in order to avoid contracting the virus. 

David Kamanzi representing Rusizi district thanked World Relief and requested that the training module be expanded to include other teachers

“I have learnt a lot from this seminar on how to fight against AIDS and I am sure this will help me to teach students against engaging in premarital sex,” Christopher Hakizimana one of the participants from Groupe Scolaire de Gihundwe said.
