TWENTY six boxers are set to contest in tomorrow’s inaugural anti-AIDS tournament at Amahoro indoor stadium.
The much-awaited contest is a refreshing event for pugilists who have not stepped in the ring for over a year.
Clubs to be represented in the contest include reigning champions Remera boxing club, Inkuba, ETM, Musanze, Rafiki and Kimisagara.
Some of the notable pugilists in the contest include Kimisagara middleweight boxer Jean Marie Nsengiyumva, Remera’s light welterweight Maurice Bikorimana, and Rafiki’s light fly Pascal Sibomana.
Weigh-ins will be done shortly before the event punches off.
The tournament that failed to draw in sponsors last year is entirely funded by National AIDS Control Council, CNLS.
