Students donate household items to widow

KARONGI – Over 300 students who completed civic training traditionally known as Itorero yesterday in Rubengera Sector, Karongi district gave Judith Yakijije, 36, a cow and an assortment of household items. KARONGI – Over 300 students who completed civic training traditionally known as Itorero yesterday in Rubengera Sector, Karongi district gave Judith Yakijije, 36, a cow and an assortment of household items.

Yakijije, a mother 4 girls could not hide her excitement and praises for the students when The New Times visited her yesterday.

“It is hard to tell the joy that the students have brought to my life by giving me this cow. My life will certainly never be the same again,” a joyful Yakijije said with tears flowing from her eyes.

Yakijije who has previously lost three different husbands, reckons that this substantial development will give her life and family another new meaning.

The support from the students comes only two months after RPF members in Karongi built her a house.
