KARONGI – Rwanda Development Bank (BRD) has opened a new branch in Karongi district to cater for clients from the Western Province districts of Karongi, Rutsiro, Rusizi and Nyamasheke.
According to Albert Twagirimana, the regional branch manager, the rationale was to extending services nearer to the people.
He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to help the local population emerge out of poverty by funding and developing sustainable projects.
“It is in this context that we hope to open other branches in Huye and Kayonza to serve the southern and eastern provinces respectively,” Twagirimana said.
BRD now has two upcountry branches, after one in Musanze district.
