Rwandatel needs help

Editor,

The complaints which have been running on this page concerning Rwandatel’s poor services are falling on deaf ears, despite the fact that it is no longer a monopoly Internet Service Provider.

For a larger part of Friday we had to work minus Internet simply because our access point was down and Customer Care kept giving this flimsy excuse whenever we called to remind them.

Rwandatel has been honest enough to tell us that the Wireless Broadband Connection they have is no longer that reliable and that clients should shift to either ADSL or Fiber Optic broadband which are both more expensive.

However to my shock I learnt that Rwandatel offices have run out of stock of ADSL modems and do not know when they will get others, therefore frustrated clients using the wireless connection have to wait forever for these modems to be purchased. Mind you, no fixed date is given!

One is left to wonder why the country’s busiest companies and highest income generators like Rwandatel are being run like charity organizations.

It would be one thing if customers failed to shift from a poor service to better one but it is quite appalling that a company should fail to provide better services to its clients due to lack of stock!

We are left with no option but to shift to other Internet Service Providers, some of which unfortunately have not benefited from rigorous advertising and marketing strategies like the latter!

Concerned client,
Kacyiru
