Winnie Ngamije 22, Fiona Umunyana 24, Rita Uwera 20, and 19-year-old Alice Kayumba are the beauties, who will represent Kigali in the upcoming Miss Rwanda beauty pageant slated for December 18 at Kigali Serena Hotel.

They made it to the finals after beating 25 other contestants on Saturday at the Kigali Serena Hotel.

The Minister of Sports and Culture Joseph Habineza was the guest of honor at the Rwandatel sponsored event.  He was flanked by Infrastructure Minister Linda Bihire.

The event which began at 6 p.m was as expected to prolong, especially that the judges had to select the best four out of 29 girls. However their work was eased after they booted out 25 contestants after a series of questions.
The night’s judges were; Eminante Mugabushaka, Jolie Murenzi and celebrated fashion icon Daddy de Maximo.
Entertainment was in plenty courtesy of Faycal and his crew, who sang among others hits like, Lionnel Richie;s “Stuck on you” and Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World”
The MCs B Club’s Remmy Lubega and Anita Pendo were also at their best, though as it has always been, Minister Joseph ‘Joe’ Habineza wrapped it up with couple of  rib cracking jokes that sent the crowd into laughter.

In his speech, he thanked the contestants for the hard work done noting the fact that they’ve developed self confidence, something essential in beauty contests.

All the four contestants selected walked home with US$100 and a brand new phone, curtsey of Rwandatel. Miss Rwanda is sponsored by Rwandatell Banque Populaire du Rwanda, Access Bank, Kigali Serena and Keza Salon among others.
