Belgium should be ashamed

Dear Editor, It was really absurd to read in your newspaper that the Belgians have granted a genocide suspect a five - year resident permit.

Dear Editor,
It was really absurd to read in your newspaper that the Belgians have granted a genocide suspect a five - year resident permit.

Not only is it a disgrace to the survivors, but it also questions the notion of International Justice. Dr Eugene Rwamucyo is a wanted man, with his name among Interpol’s red notice.

Why then would a country like Belgium extend a helping hand to a man suspected of committing crimes against humanity?

If his neighbours in Belgium get to know that they have a genocide suspect within their vicinity, they will make his stay difficult.

It is totally unacceptable for someone to get away with crimes he committed even though it was in a country far away and a couple of years back.

Editor, I would like to request you to keep this issue on your agenda so that it is not forgotten and should only be laid to rest once the courts of law rule decide that he is either innocent and is acquitted or is  guilty and punished.

Please keep us posted.
