The nomination of the Rwanda Capital Markets regulator for a slot in the Investment and Business Leader Award will help attract more investors and win investor confidence according to the Capital Markets Advisory Council (CMAC).
“This nomination is a vote of confidence and recognition of how the financial market is operating in Rwanda and its attractiveness,” said Robert Mathu the Executive Director of CMAC.
Mathu also said that with this nomination, foreign investors will start seeing Rwanda as an investment destination and this will help satisfy the market where the demand is higher than the supply.
Africa Investor Awards are unique pan-African investment awards that recognize and reward the achievements of the private sector across wide-ranging sectors and disciplines.
The nomination of CMAC comes after only two years of its establishment by the prime minister’s decree of March 2007, to guide the development of capital markets in Rwanda.
