EVEN after Rwanda’s disappointing loss to Algeria over the weekend, Sports Minister Joseph Habineza has again confirmed that Amavubi Stars head coach Branko Tucak is going nowhere and will be in charge when Rwanda host Zambia in their final Africa Nations Cup qualifier next month.
Habineza told Times Sport yesterday that the Croat will not be sacked.

“Firing him [Tucak] now is not the best option. Sacking him would cause of Harm to than good as we would be forced to pay extra costs for breach of contract.

“So we have to be patient until next month when he will be managing the last World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Kigali, then we see what happens next,” Habineza said.

Rwanda’s hopes of playing in next year’s Orange Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) were dashed following Sunday’s 3-1 defeat against a spirited Algerian side.

The defeat not only ended Rwanda’s slim chances of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but it also dented the country’s prospects of making it to Angola for next year’s Africa Nations Cup.
