Much as Rwanda is fielding a much stronger side than the one that dethroned Kenya in the Zone 5 championships hosted in Kigali a few months ago, players have not had enough time to gel as a team.

The team captain Honoree Ayebare fears that it could work against them in Antananarivo.

Will talk more on that in due course but for now, I’m going to run you through a brief fact-file of the teams Rwanda will contend with in Madagascar.

Team facts
Senegal is most decorated team in the championship with nine titles. The West Africans were silver medalists in 1968, 1983, 1994, 2005 and 2007 and bronze medalists in 1970 and 2003. They are drawn in Group A.

Nigeria famously known as D’Tigress have two titles under their belt (2003 and 2005). They were also second runners up in 1997. They are drawn in Group B alongside Rwanda.
