Amagaju v Etincelles

THIS afternoon’s Pre-Season final between APR and SC Kiyovu at Amahoro Stadium promises to be a close contest.
Both clubs have invested heavily in the off-season and as expected, APR’s former players Mwemere Girinshuti and Eric Serugaba will be out to prove a point.

Bonaventure Hategikimana and Jean Shyaka will also be a handful for the league champions but with an in-form Abbas Rassou, Haruna Niyonzima and Jean Mugiraneza ‘Migi’, APR’s head coach should be fairly relaxed.

APR and Kiyovu progressed to the final after wining their respective semi-final ties on Tuesday.

The defending league champions thrashed Amagaju 3-0 while Kiyovu downed Etincelles 2-0.

Migi scored a brace before Abbas Rassou added a third, his second goal in as many games. Haruna Niyonzima had a hand in all the three goals.

In the SC Kiyovu-Etincelles tie, Rodriquez Mapuwa and Cassim Hassan scored the goals to push Kiyovu into the final.

The final will be preceded by a third-place playoff clash between Amagaju and Etincelles.

Tournament sponsors Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc) have staked Rwf5m for the winner while the first, second and third runners up get to pocket Rwf3m, Rwf1.5m and Rwf1m respectively.

The event is a curtain raiser to the new season.
