RAYON Sport’s veteran striker Jimmy Gatete is confident he will play an integral part for the club next season.
The 27-year-old is out of contract with the blues but a close source to the club indicates that it’s just a matter of time before he signs.
Gatete is craving for a two-year extension but it remains to be seen if he will get it or whether the club will give him a one-year deal.
Gatete told Times Sport yesterday that he was keen to stay and help Rayon return to their glorious days.
“I definitely want to stay and I’m sure the club also wants me. All that’s left is for me to sign a new contract,” the Amavubi star said.
Gatete joined Rayon Sport two years ago from arch-rivals APR for a second stint having played for the blues during 1996-2000.
The new season kicks off October 17.
