THE BEDROOM is a safe haven and resting place after a hard day. Many things make up a bedroom, and these things should be able to doll up your bedroom to provide the comfort you need. One of the things that if wrongly fixed can make your bedroom a living nightmare is light. Lights are a must in any room. Whether you use the lights just for seeing around or reading; make sure you always have the right lighting in your bedroom.

Balanced design

To create a clean, balanced look with a touch of eclectic flair, symmetry is the key. Use bedside lamps, nightstands and coordinating accessories in pairs. If you want to decorate in eclectic style, duplicates of items help to keep it from looking chaotic. If you want a balanced design, use a matching pair of metallic table lamps and an elegant crystal chandelier as the room’s primary light sources. Chandeliers are the jewelry of a home; whether small or large, they add flamboyance to any room.

Convenient elegance
Pendant lights suspended above the nightstands are a sight to behold. For ease of use, the fixtures can be turned on and off by a small remote control kept in each nightstand drawer. The fixtures are convenient but can also be dimmed to instantly alter the mood of the room. It will all depend with your taste.

Coloured lightings

I am against coloured lighting by all means. These should be left to the discotheques and party-like environment. Bedroom lighting should be normal, but with the provision to dim or increase the lights when need be. But again, this depends with someone’s taste. If you want to have the lighting ball in your room so be it.

Organisation is the key to having a striking and comfortable bedroom. If you take the time to make sure everything is in place, then you will have the most interesting bedroom.

A bedroom should be your favourite place to rest; a comfortable place to tuck yourself away from the world at the end of the day.
