When you hear the word ‘fashion’ what comes to your mind? Is it trendy clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories, bags etc? That is in fact what fashion is. When you shop, do you buy items because they are in vogue or because it looks good on you?
Your dress code says a lot about you and the better you dress, the more confidence you have. Buy things that flatter your body size and shape. Many people choose clothes because they are in vogue without considering their bodies. This will only put you on the fashion polices’ worst dressed list!
Try not to wear anything too revealing or tight. If you are buying jeans, choose a pair one size up. Try to buy tops that will let you breathe.
“I am not ashamed of the extra pounds I gained because I wear loose fitting clothes. So I never worry because it’s hard to be noticed,” says one student, Mary Teta said.
It is hard to follow all the rules of fashion but you can make it easy by wearing whatever makes you comfortable. Buy shoes you are certain will allow you to walk around comfortably. There is no point in buying a pair of 8-inch heels if you can’t even walk in them.
Style is never complete without accessories. They will accentuate the outfit but it should be done right. Do not attempt to wear all your jewelry at once.
Be simple and artistic when it comes to accessorising an outfit. Remember, ‘elegance is the only beauty that never fades’– according to Audrey Hepburn.
