VETERAN striker Jimmy Gatete and Interim coach Baptiste Kayiranga are set to sign new contracts with Rayon Sport, Times Sport has learnt.
Sources close to the club revealed that the duo will put pen on paper this Thursday as they plot to end the club’s trophy drought next season.
Other players who have been promised new contracts include; Bonaventure Hategekimana, Pekeyake Tuyisenge, Albert Ngabo, Marcel Lomani and Albert Nyumbayire.
Gatete, one of the most experienced and capped players in Rwanda joined Rayon Sport two years ago on a free transfer from APR and Rayon have experienced their desire to hold onto him.
Kayiranga is meanwhile expected to sign a contract extension as Rayon’s interim coach.
“We shall renew his contract as an interim coach because there is still a possibility that Raoul Shungu could return to the club if we reach a compromise,” the club’s secretary general Olivier Gakwaya said.
Shungu was sacked back in May over irreconcilable differences.
