unknown to most of us that, no matter how much money we spend on creams and powders; no matter how much time we spend in beauty parlours, besides good genes ,nothing much will help us look younger than the food that we eat.

It has been said time again that we are what we eat, of which to some extent is true. Whatever you eat is processed by your metabolism and used by your body to make everything work how it is supposed to, but also there are some foods that are both good when applied on the skin as raw, or eaten.

Lemon Juice

Lemons are known to contain strong antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting powers and their use as a weight loss aid because lemon juice is a digestive aid and liver cleanser. Lemons contain many substances--notably citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene--that promote immunity and fight infection. But this is not to say that one should be downing copious amounts of lemon juice every day. It should be taken in moderation.

Yoghurt

One of the beauty secrets that women are not aware of is Milk. If you look at communities that drink a lot of milk, you will notice that they have exceptional skin tones. In Kenya the Maasai community is known for their beauty. Rwandese ladies are known to have very good skin tones. Ethiopian ladies, Uganda women from the Banyankole or Bahima women are known for their exceptional looks- thanks to milk.

Drinking milk helps a lot in the formation of an even skin tone. Research has also proven that yoghurt is very for good for our health, as well as effective in cleansing the skin.

One of the secret beauty regimens that the famous beauty queen Cleopatra used was Milk. She used to bath in Milk and use the same to cleanse her face. This can be seen in many high end products like the L’Oreal and Estee Lauder using milk in many of their facials products. If you were not fan of milk – try it.

Honey

Honey has been known since time immemorial that it contains nature’s energy booster,is a great immunity system builder and natural remedy for many ailments. In my house I buy honey in plenty because of my small children, it helps to keep them healthy. Honey also has fantastic moisturizing properties, and it is also antibacterial. Most acne is actually caused by bacteria on the skin, so using honey instead of an antibacterial soap can be extremely beneficial for your skin because, rather than just drying your skin out to rid yourself of problem-causing bacteria, it will moisturize your skin while doing the same.

Vinegar

A teaspoon of vinegar in a glass of water can help with digestion, bowel function, cholesterol, and even preventing ulcers. It can also work wonders on your skin and hair. If you use vinegar instead of conditioner once a month, your hair will shine like it’s never shined before. This is because the vinegar strips the products and grease that build up over time out of your hair, leaving it naturally shiny. You can also use apple cider vinegar as a toner for your skin. Just wipe it on your face and you will see that it exfoliates immediately, leaving your skin beautiful and glowing.

It is good to note that people are now excited to live a healthy life. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and not forgetting drinking lots of water will also help you stay young and healthy.
