Making a visual impact in the office this month is something you may have to consider while trying out pencil skirts. “Pencil skirts are so named because they have a way of making women‘s legs pencil thin and keep them close together by having a straight and narrow cut,” says Keri Wajunzi of Flash Models.
According to her, the classic straight or tulip curve hugging skirt can be worn in many different waist lengths to achieve a variety of looks. The ideal fit should hug the curves of the body yet still have some give.
In contrary to many rumors the pencil skirt is not versatile for many body shapes no matter how you accessorize it. Here are a few tips on how you can look nice in them.
Dress shirt: Just tuck in the shirt and top it off with a belt.
Dressy blouse: A cute blouse adds that little extra something.
Floral top: For a cheerful zest of color during these warmer months, a floral top will spice it up a little.
Black from top to toe: A very basic monochromatic outfit. But make sure you add something interesting like a wide belt around the waist and sexy, strappy shoes. You can alternatively play with different textures such as a lace top and a black croc clutch purse.
Light colors: White and creams will definitely enhance a nice tan.
A pencil skirt is quite versatile and with the right accessories and styling, you can easily transform it from a plain librarian look into something more chic and fun.
