AMAGAJU’s new tactician Hamis Sogonya is determined to help the club climb into the top half of the first division league table.

The Southern Province club survived relegation on the last day of the 2008-09 league campaign after a sweet 1-0 win over Kibuye.

Sogonya, who boosts of vast coaching experience after handling the likes of SC Kiyovu, Police and AS Kigali is said to have recently signed a two-year deal with the club.

The new coach’s immediate task is to revamp his squad by bringing in good quality players.

“The club was almost relegated last year but that’s now history. My task is to make sure we finish in the top six next season,” he said.

“So we have to start by beefing up our squad to make sure that we can comfortably compete with the big guns.”
Amagaju is one of the oldest clubs in the country.
