There is a need for parents to openly discuss HIV/Aids with their children. Rwanda is globally recognized for its effort to address the issue of HIV/Aids. However, is should be every one’s responsibility to guide Children who are to morrow’s generation and leaders.
It is of no doubt that one may particularly commend good leadership atmosphere in Rwanda which has transformed the well- being of children through the First Lady’s initiative, ‘Treat Every Child as Your Own’. We must work to provide protection, care and treatment for children infected and affected by HIV/Aids.
According to reports, more than 160,000 Rwandan children have been orphaned to HIV/Aids. According to 2004 UNAIDS Global Report, 22,000 children aged 15 and below are living with the virus.
