Two German children aged six and five, last week tried to escape to Africa with a plan to get married.
According to sources, Anna-Bell and Mika had always dreamed about getting married in Africa. So, they packed their suitcases and set off from the German city of Hanover to tie the knot under the heat of the African sun.
The children left their homes in the morning while their unaware parents were still sleeping. With them was Mika’s seven-year-old sister, Anna-Lena, who was a witness to the wedding.
They dragged their suitcases that contained summer clothes, toys and a few provisions and walked a kilometre up the road to Hanover train station. Luckily, a suspicious train station guard alerted the police. Eventually the children were immediately taken back to their parents.
Children must know that issues concerning marriage are strictly for adults. According to the Rwandan law, people can only get married at 21 years. It is therefore not right to copy such behaviour from older people just like these German children did.
