While browsing through various news on the net, I was surprised to see in Yahoo news that a week of "Be Kind to Human kind”, was celebrated some days ago.

Kindness is a virtue universally accepted and appreciated, since ages. All religions and cultures teach one to be kind to others.

Be Kind to Human Kind-This message could be interpreted in 2 senses. First one can think that   kindness is diminishing in the world, hence it needs to be promoted. Another interpretation could be that kindness does exist but people need to   understand and practice it more to foster peace and well being of all people across the globe.

In whatever way this week may have been interpreted and celebrated is not significant. But it is significant to know the importance of kindness for human being.

According to Greek philosopher Aristotle, it is one of the emotions, which is defined as being "helpfulness towards someone in need, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper himself, but for that of the person helped".

When an individual is kind to another, that person feels good and relaxed. If he is in distress, it is   one person   who is helped in the society.

If many needy people are benefitted by the kindness of others, an entire group or community is helped in resolving their problem or for their betterment.
Kindness can be   performed by thoughts, words,  or actions.

Think good and positive about all   people you know. Avoid any type of negative thoughts about another   person. This will definitely help the other person in some way and give you mental peace.

You can just say soothing words to somebody in pain, this will reduce the pain by half.

Avoid using harsh hurtful words against anybody, whatever may be the provocation.

There are countless   examples regarding kindness in action. There are numerous institutions for destitute and needy in the world. Many good Samaritans are helping run them and thus help the needy by giving time and money both.

In case of a disaster happening anywhere like floods or a drought, a large number of people donate   in cash to help in procuring material for those affected.

People also help in kind   by giving clothes, food, e.t.c., to the affected people. Those who can manage the time, go to the site as volunteers to aid physically in the relief and rehabilitation of affected persons.

Thus it is the collective kindness of so many people involved which helps in overcoming such humanitarian crises.

Kindness is a trait which has many advantages and no harm or loss for anyone. On the side of the deprived, help reaches them, which solves some problems.

The person extending the  aid   out of kindness feels good at heart after giving out that help. It also instils a sense of self confidence in the individual that he can help others. Along with it, he also experiences a   sense of deep satisfaction.

It is a law of nature, that there is a reaction to every action, what is called as theory of karma. Everybody gets   results according to his actions done, whether good or bad.

So be sure, when you are being kind to somebody today, tomorrow in your hour of need, you shall encounter kindness and help   from some source.

Similar to the 2 shades black and white, there are 2 opposite instincts in every human being, a positive and negative. Kindness is one of the positive traits.

The world is running   and has not collapsed up to now, because there are more of kind people, than the ones generating violence and hatred.

When elders   are kind in their thoughts, words and deeds, the younger generation learns and follows the same.

One message for all to follow is that never forgo kindness and be kind to one and all. That would be the essence of-Be Kind To Humankind.
