Sarah Uwera, who went to exhibit her work in Belgium, has returned home. The 10-year-old girl was selected to represent Africa when she won an art competition as part of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The world commemorates this day as part of the campaign to highlight dangers of mistreating women.
Uwera was among other children from other parts of the world whose drawings were selected for the exhibition. She was also the only African representative in this exhibition.
“I go to school, Mary and her little sister stay at home- Mary and her brother go to school,” are some of the words that Sarah Uwera wrote on her art piece.
This means that all children should struggle to exercise their hidden talents. Who knew that a young girl would turn out to be an international competitor?
