After the exit of Urban Boys from this year’s edition of Primus Guma Guma SuperStar, many were wondering who would be the group’s replacement, but the doubts have been settled. Rafiki Mazimpaka. Rafiki and TNP, a boy band consisting of Trecy, Nicolas and Passy, have taken the group’s slot in the competition. The announcement was made last week, by sponsors Bralirwa at a hastily arranged press conference. Urban Boys’ decision to quit the competition was untimely to say the least, but boys claimed they had other projects to concentrate on. Meanwhile, Rafiki’s inclusion may signal a new chapter in his music career. TNP and Rafiki had both tied in at the 16th position after the Urban Boys. Pascal Kizito of TNP Primus Guma Guma SuperStar—PGGSS, is an annual singing competition show, sponsored by Bralirwa’s Primus lager. Rafiki, real name Rafiki Mazimpaka, said: “I’m extremely grateful to the people who voted me, because it’s the votes that take us through,” he said, before adding: “I promise my fans the best out of me,” said Rafiki, who has been in the music industry for 10 years. Pascal Kizito, aka Paccy, speaking for TNP, said: “I thank all the people who voted for TNP.
