A project to construct a peace-building centre under the Kigali Genocide Memorial received a major boost, Sunday night, when local business men and women in close partnership with Friends of Rwanda raised more than $100,000.

The City of Kigali in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure, plans to scale up street lighting.

Kigali is set to host regional and international Startup World competitions where Rwandan ICT entrepreneurs, innovators and early stage business leaders will participate in the contest by presenting their best business “pitches.”

The Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) Monday said it had cancelled a business deal with a UK-based company to supply environmentally friendly plastic bags.
