Habiyambere claims ITF junior tourney

E. Habiyambere bt S. Kabura (BUR) 3-6 6-3 6-2
RWANDA’s Ernest Habiyambere won the first leg of the ITF/CAT 14 and Under African junior circuit in Bujumbura, Burundi.
Habiyambere concluded the first leg undefeated following impressive performance in the final to dispatch off Burundian Shabani Kabura in three sets 3-6 6-3 6-2.
En-route to claiming the first leg crown, Habiyambere had seen off Said Nkurunziza 6-3 6-2 in the semi finals.
In the Under-12 category, Bryana Ndahiro failed to emulate his elder compatriot’s prowess when he lost to Burundian Shakour Kabura in straight sets 6-1, 7-6.
Rwandans Ndahiro and Fabrice Tuyishime won the U-12 doubles’ category 2-6 7-6 and 10-8.
The second leg got underway on Monday in Bujumbura and will run until August 16. The third leg will be held in Kigali from August 18-22.
