Making the most of the US$166m loan facility
Editor,
It’s good news to hear that the Government of the People’s Republic of China has given Rwanda a soft loan of US$116 million to finance the Rusizi-Rubavu highway, which is hoped to help boost tourism and trade in our country.
If the money (US$166 Millions) is put to better use, I am sure it will benefit the country immensely. Economy cannot grow if we don’t have well paved roads to facilitate trade. I know it’s not in the culture of our leaders to pocket state funds but nonetheless we must remain vigilant and make the most of the loan facility.
