Amavubi take on Tunisia tonight
Tunisia vs Rwanda 7pm
Tunisia host Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars a Fifa international friendly match which will be played this evening at Monastir stadium in Sousse.
Tunisia ranked 56th face Amavubi who are ranked 105th as part of both team’s preparations for the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, which kicks off next month.
Tunisia is placed in group B alongside Cap-Vert, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea while Rwanda is in Group H which is comprised of Algeria, Benin and Mali respectively.
This will be the third time that both countries face each other since 2004 during the Africa Cup of Nations held in Tunis.
Rwanda lost 1-2 to hosts and went on to lose 1-3 during the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) held in Sudan in 2011.
Coach Milutin Sredojovic Micho said yesterday, “We are heading into Sunday’s match with a major intention of gaining experience on the international level”.
“I believe in my team’s willingness to put the defeat against Libya (on Wednesday) behind them and concentrate on getting a good result against Tunisia, who I think will cause us more problems than Libya did,” added the Serbian coach.
Micho will be without defenders Mbuyu Twite and Emery Bayisenge, who are out with knee and ankle injuries respectively.
Rwanda lost 0-2 in their first friendly match against Libya in Hammam Bourguiba.
