Man arrested for impersonation
The Police in Nyamagabe District have arrested a 28 year-old man for masquerading as an employee of the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG).
A district Criminal Investigation police officer, Gerald Habiyambere, said the suspect conned several relatives of prisoners at Gikongoro prison and would ask for Rwf200, 000 to help them release the prisoner.
“He conned a girl posing as an employee of CNLG, who could secure release of her relative, who was imprisoned for genocide charges,” Habiyambere said.
“He claimed he is a friend to Domitila Mukantaganzwa, (the Executive Secretary of the National Service of Gacaca Jurisdictions) and it would be easy for the convict’s release”.
Nzabririnda was arrested after the district’s prosecutor doubted his occupation claims.
