Prosecution seeks life sentence for Ingabire

The state prosecutor has asked a panel of judges to give Victoire Ingabire the maximum life sentence on charges of terrorism, threatening state security, divisionism, genocide ideology and genocide denial.

“These crimes amount to a life sentence. We request a life sentence for Victoire
Ingabire,” Deputy Prosecutor General Alphonse Hitiyaremye, said at the conclusion of the seven-month long trial today.
