MP Mukakalisa appointed regional coordinator of women parliamentarians

The Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) has appointed Rwandan legislator Faith Mukakalisa as its regional coordinator of women parliamentarians for the Africa region.

Mukakalisa told The New Times in an interview, today, that during the IPU assembly’s 126th sitting held in Kampala, Uganda, she beat several women parliamentarians from various countries to get the position.

She attributed her success to Rwanda’s outstanding performance in gender promotion.
