Editor, I read in your newspaper yesterday that Kigali Public Library is officially open to the public, which to me is a positive development. I am sure this will give opportunity to many Rwandans to have access to books and eventually promote a reading culture, especially amongst the children.
Editor, I am writing to appeal to Rwandan police and law-abiding citizens to treat human traffickers as human murderers.
Editor, Reference is made to the story, titled ‘Human trafficking racket busted’ published in The New Times of Monday, April 16. In the story, it was stated that the National Police of Rwanda had intercepted suspected human traffickers who were about to traffic a group of young Rwandan girls to China.
Editor, Allow me to respond to the story, “Low interconnection fees trigger cheaper calling rates”, which was published in yesterday’s issue of The New Times.
Editor, Cyber crime rates in East Africa are not as alarming as they are in the rest of the world due to the low internet penetration. However, considering the fact that Rwanda aspires to becoming the ICT hub of the region, it is imperative that the fight against cyber crimes starts now.
