Bishop Augustin Misago laid to rest

NYAMAGABE–The late Bishop of Gikongoro Catholic Diocese, Augustin Misago, was yesterday laid to rest inside the Gikongoro Cathedral Church.
Bishop Misago passed away on Monday at around midday in his office where he was found.
Results of the autopsy are yet to be released but it is suspected that he succumbed to a heart attack.
Hundreds of clergymen and women, religious and national leaders joined the family of the prelate and Catholic followers in Nyamagabe District to pay their last respects in a ceremony held at Gikongoro Cathedral.
A mass was celebrated in honour of the deceased Monsignor, followed by funeral services inside the church.
Among the national political figures present at the ceremony was the Vice President of the Senate, Bernard Makuza, the Governor of the Southern Province Alphonse Munyentwari, the National Chairman of Itorero Taskforce, Boniface Rucagu, Members of Parliament and local leaders.
Also present was the former president, Pasteur Bizimungu.
A message sent by the Pope paid tribute to Bishop Misago and described him as someone who dedicated his life to the benefit of the Church.
“We all pray for the Bishop so that God grants him a place in heaven,” the Pope wrote.
Bishop Smaragde Mbonyintege, the president of the Catholic Episcopal Conference of Rwanda, hailed the late Bishop, observing that he was diligent in his work.
“He was very intelligent, hardworking and committed to his work. He was a bright researcher who did a lot for the Church and the country,” Mgr Mbonyintege said.
“He was a good advisor for every one of us and for anyone who approached him”.

13 Keep silent and let me speak; then let come to me what may. 14 Why do I put myself in jeopardy and take my life in my hands? 15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. 16 Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless man would dare come before him!JOB 13:14-16
