Editor,I wish to commend Nyarugenge District for exposing the 173 students who got funds from the Financing Agency for Rwanda (SFAR’s) when their parents could afford to meet their education bills. It is depressing to discover that SFAR supported students from well-to-do families.
Editor,Capt. Damien Kwizera, who recently defected from the Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) militia, has demonstrated that the group is fighting a losing battle. One cannot fight a legitimate government and win.First and foremost, FDLR which is largely comprised of perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi has no future because it is fighting an unjust cause.
Editor,It is a good gesture for Compassion International-Rwanda chapter to donate laptops to 88 students under the NGO`s Leadership Development Programme (LDP).Beneficiaries need to realise that today’s education is highly competitive and must, therefore, use the laptops to do research and improve their chances of passing exams. There have been cases where students sell donated laptops cheaply.
