Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College to visit
A delegation of General and Senior Officers from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College [GAFCSC] will be in Rwanda for a regional study tour from 17th – 23rd April 2011.
The theme of the study tour is “Promoting the Integration of Africa through Economic, Socio-cultural, Technological and Military Cooperation”.
The tour is aimed at broadening the knowledge of students about economic, political and diplomatic context in which the military instrument of power is exercised.
While in the country, the delegation will visit and receive presentations from the RDF Headquarters, Rwanda Military Academy [Gako], Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation [MINAFFET], Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning [MINECOFIN], Ministry of Local Government [MINALOC], Ministry of East African Community [MINEAC], Rwanda Textiles Industry [UTEXRWA], Inyange Factories.
They will also visit the Methane Gas Project, Rwanda Development Board [RDB] and Rwanda Beer and Lemonades factory [BRALIRWA]. The delegation will also visit Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, Rwanda – DRC Border post at Rubavu and tour Kigali City.
The Commandant of the College will hold discussions with the Chief of Defence Staff and pay a courtesy call on the Minister of Defence.
The delegation includes Major General Kwesi Yankson, the Commandant of GAFCSC and head of the delegation, Brigadier General Adjetey Annan, Ghana’s Defence Attaché in Addis Ababa, members of the Directing Staff, staff officers and students from four African countries.
The tour will enhance the positive image of Rwanda, promote the integration of Africa while indirectly fostering military cooperation between Rwanda and other countries.
