Karongi official dies in motor accident
KARONGI - Grief engulfed newly sworn in leaders of Karongi District after finding the body of their colleague, by the roadside, following a motor accident.
Janvier Nyiringango, who worked for the National AIDS Control Commission (CNLS) at the district, was riding on a motor bike when he crushed and died instantly in the early hours of Saturday.
The deceased was on his way home from a victory party organized by the district leadership.
His body was discovered by Yves Bernard Ningabire, the district Executive Secretary.
“As I drove, I saw the motorcycle by the roadside only to discover Nyiringango lying in the trench,” he said.
Jean Bosco Rutayisire, the District Director of Health described the deceased as a hard working colleague.
“It is sad that we lost a colleague who had great commitment and passion towards his work,” Rutayisire said.
The late Nyiringango is survived by a wife.
