Chinese delegation visits Parliament

KIGALI - Members of the Chinese National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Friday, arrived in the country for a three-day official visit.
The 12 member delegation was received at Kigali International Airport by Rwanda’s Deputy Speaker for the Chamber of Deputies, Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo.
On their first day of the tour, the delegates from China’s Legislature held brief talks with their local counterparts before meeting heads of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
The delegation led by CPPCC’s Deputy Speaker, Zhao Zhuo, said their visit is aimed at strengthening friendly ties between China and Rwanda and the two Legislative organs in particular.
Yesterday, the delegation was scheduled to visit the Genocide memorial Centre at Gisozi before meeting the Governor of Northern Province at Hotel Serena. The team will also tour The Free Trade Zone before leavening the country today.
